Motorola published their Q4 and full 2009 financial reports, which shows quite clear signs that the company is getting back on its feet. They have earned 142 million US dollars in Q4, which has brought down the total loss for the year 2009 to only 51 million dollars. Now compare those to the 3.7 billion dollars that Motorola lost in Q4 2008 and 4.2 billion loss for the whole 2008 and you see our point.

Unfortunately the mobile division is still struggling to make some profit. Motorola shipped 12 million handsets in Q4, 2 million of

2009 was a really good year for almost all of Samsung’s divisions. And as the just published financial report shows Q4 was just the icing of the cake. Quarter by quarter the number of shipped Samsung mobile phones grew and grew despite the world financial crisis.

The summary shows that Samsung managed to ship nearly 227 million units, which is good 16% more than the 196 phones sold in 2008.

Looking at the iPad SDK, programmers are starting to say that the new version of the iPhone OS will support video calls, file downloads, and some sort of multitasking.
