The last time a Japanese company reduced the price of the Playstation 3 in 2009, when introduced in the Playstation 3 Slim model sales has become a pretext for price regulation and other versions of the game console. Moreover, the reduction of prices on PlayStation 3 in anticipation of the holiday sales is a proven marketing move, although it cannot be excluded that competitors will respond the same coin and or even cause pre-emptive strike, as in the case of Nintendo, last week, the price of the 3DS at $ 80.

By the end of the year is expected to release a new game console PlayStation Vita, at prices which already fierce controversy. Many experts believe that the advertised price of $ 250 is excessive and should be reduced. The reduction would be better to do now, not after announcing a gaming console, otherwise this project drastically increases the risk of a major failure.
