Numerous iPhone 4 customers have discovered critical issues with the phone’s display and reception that could pose major problems for Apple’s newest mobile device.

Multiple Apple- and gadget-focused websites are receiving reports that the iPhone’s much-discussed “Retina Display” is susceptible to a yellow discoloration, either as a thin line of yellow or as a circular tint.

That’s not the only problem: There are now countless videos online that show how holding the new iPhone by its sides can decrease reception quality.

We’ve received a growing… Read the rest of IPhone 4:- Critical Issues & Complaints are mounting

iPhone 4 Pre-Orders Sold Out?

Yesterday was both a very good and a very bad day for Apple and AT&T. The iPhone 4 became available for pre-order but Apple and AT&T’s servers were so overwhelmed that many users weren’t actually able to complete the pre-order process.

Despite these issues, it seems that the iPhone 4 was selling so well that the first batch of devices available for pre-order is now sold out. In Apple’s online store, the shipping date next to the iPhone 4 has changed to July 2, which is… Read the rest of iPhone 4 Pre-Orders Sold Out?

New Droid to Debut the Day Before iPhone 4 Hits Stores

Verizon and Motorola have announced they’ll be officially unveiling the latest, greatest version of the Droid on June 23, one day before the iPhone 4 is slated to appear in Apple stores around the U.S.

We’re not entirely certain whether Verizon, Google, Motorola and Adobe execs at the June 23 press event will be showing off the Droid 2, a physical keyboard beauty with all the trimmings, or the Droid X, a big and bold iPhone killer if there ever was one. Who knows, we… Read the rest of New Droid to Debut the Day Before iPhone 4 Hits Stores

Apple Shows Us What HTML5 Can Do

Apple is one of the biggest supporters of HTML5, and Steve Jobs clearly thinks this new standard is the future of the web. To show why Flash is no longer necessary, Apple has launched a HTML5 showcase displaying what an HTML5-capable browser can do without the need of additional plugins.

In typical Apple style, the showcase consists of simple, elegant, yet quite impressive demos of the technology. In one demo, you can type in some text, quickly change the font, its size and transparency, rotate it… Read the rest of Apple Shows Us What HTML5 Can Do

Google Confirms Free Turn-by-Turn Directions–Coming to iPhone

Free turn-by-turn Google Maps Navigation has already threatened an entire industry of GPS navigation companies whose livelihood depends on selling paid versions of what the search giant is now giving away for free. Currently Google Maps Navigation is available for Android phones only, but in a London press conference Google said it will bring free navigation to the iPhone along with other platforms.

The presser ushered in the arrival of Google Maps Navigation in the UK, but perhaps the juicier part of the news was the official… Read the rest of Google Confirms Free Turn-by-Turn Directions--Coming to iPhone

Apple iPhone 4G Spotted in the Wild

Gizmodo might have just scored the ultimate exclusive: a bonafide hands-on with the purported iPhone 4G. Over the weekend, photos emerged of what is believed to be the next generation Apple iPhone, but Gizmodo actually managed to acquire the device in question.

Apparently a hapless (and presumably now former) Apple employee left his prototype iPhone 4G or iPhone HD in a bar in Redwood City. The device, made to look like an iPhone 3GS, is presumably an early version of the… Read the rest of Apple iPhone 4G Spotted in the Wild

New BBC Director Mandates Journalists Use Social Media

Peter Horrocks assumed the position of director of BBC Global News last week, and he’s not wasting time with niceties. The self-proclaimed technology enthusiast is telling journalists to get with the social media program or get out.

As quoted in the BBC in-house weekly Ariel, the new director said, “This isn’t just a kind of fad… I’m afraid you’re not doing your job if you can’t do those things. It’s not discretionary.”

On the social media front, Horrocks appears to take the stance that Twitter , RSS readers and… Read the rest of New BBC Director Mandates Journalists Use Social Media
